Double Post

Ok I shall double post, cos I think I've got some more to say... If you wanna hear my reflections... Please refer to the post below. And if you wanna know more soccer results, go look downstairs as well. *** S03H Well, Talentime results are coming out today. I'm not exactly feeling very upbeat about it, cos there were lots of awesome bands there that day auditioning. We were good, but of course some of them were better. Narpal's band, Hyqel's band were pretty good IMO. Its gonna be one tough fight. If we do get in, I'm gonna be surprised. Good job Indra, Mam and Vivek! You guys did extremely well that day and I'm proud of you guys. A few little tidbits... Hyqel's band consisting of Adam, Boyle and himself played Alternative Rock. Red Hot Chilli Peppers to be exact. Narpal's band played pure rock. There was one band that played The All American Rejects and A-Train. And another who played Snow Patrol and Three Doors Down. They all were pretty ok. Some of t

Total Reflection

Alright... Its almost the end of January, and time passes pretty fast. Tests and other stuffs are around the corner... Guitar, Rock, Piano and YE have pretty much been occupying my time. I'm a very busy guy this time of year. And its only gonna get busier. Well, lets get started shall we? *** Soccer! Singapore vs Malaysia! Definitely the highlight of the week. Most of the YE worship people were at church attending the worship seminar, and after that, we all decided to go for supper at Tanglin Halt. There happened to be a coffeeshop there showing the game, and by the time we finished supper, they were having penalties. Singapore 1 Malaysia 1 The kicks flew into the goal fast and furious, it seemed that it was going to be a deadlock... Until the final penalty. Lionel Lewis saved the low and slow spot kick, and Singapore was into the finals against Thailand. Most of us going... "Woooooo Singapore!" And lots of old uncles at the coffeeshop started cheering. Ok you guys have caught me in a real super happy good mood today. Haha probably a culmination of all the great stuff thats been happening along the way the past few days. Had lots of fun to say the least... And of course lots of stuff in between that made me ultra super happy! K I'll leave all the reflections for a later post. I want this post to be super ultra happy, so I'll leave the serious stuff for next time. *** Soccer! Liverpool 2 Chelsea 0 Aston Villa 2 Watford 0 Fulham 1 Tottenham 1 Middlesbrough 5 Bolton 1 Newcastle 2 West Ham 2 Portsmouth 0 Charlton 1 Reading 3 Sheffield 1 Man City 0 Blackburn 3 Wigan 0 Everton 2 Arsenal 2 Man U 1 Won a lunch from both my bros as a result of betting on the last match. So for alternate weeks, they'll have to buy me lunch before or after YE. Yipee... *** S03H The weekend was a pretty busy one. Started off going jamming with Mam and Vivek, as well as Indra? Did I spell that right? Guess what? We're joining talentime for fun! Its

Eh DEI!

Hey guys... The past week has been pretty alright. Busy to say the least. Reaching home at about 9 plus every single day of the week except Friday. One thing thats good for me is that ever since that revelation on Sunday, I've continued to place my trust in him and do everything in him, which is a really good thing. *** YE Last week's YE was about love, which was when it came to me. Will leave that for a later post. What I'd like to talk about was YE worship ministry's meeting. We welcomed a couple of new people into the team, but unfortunately there are still a few vacancies in the worship leader area that have to be filled. I'm praying that it'll be ok. Dear Gerald's leading today, and I think he'll do a great job in touching the hearts of YE. Looking forward to it. Got a lot of additional stuff this year to look forward to, such as worship modules, band dynamics workshops, group training in instruments, jam sessions, group and individual mentoring as

Psalm 13

Psalm 13 "How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts, and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? Look on me and answer, O Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death; my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," And my foes will rejoice when I fall. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me." Well, this is today's bible study material... And I must say its pretty apt. The internal turmoil I've been through while trying to answer one of the most trying personal questions has dissolved, and I'm glad for that. The answer came yesterday, and I'll share my thoughts soon. The question was the very same one Aunty K asked herself, if you guys in YE remember. It haunted me through camp, through CCIS, through Christmas, through the New Year, thr

Bye Mrs Toh

Its amazing how friends can just make the difference each and every day. Whatever they do either makes or breaks you. And this past week I must say that all my friends around me have made my days so memorable. Encouragement and strength can come from the most unlikeliest of sources, be it through praise, advice, affirmation or just plain company. "You're one of my role models..." "I know how you feel..." "Thanks so much Ben..." "Don't worry lah, you're gonna survive this year..." "Benlow you are d*** cool lah!" Even simple words like these make a persons day. Sometimes people don't even need words, you can still be comforted by the silence when you're on a train or bus somewhere on your way home with your friend. To all those people who have made the above comments, as well as those who've been beside me in silent understanding, thank you. *** S03H Well, I guess its time to talk about the past few days of school,

New Day New Discovery

FA Cup matches last night were superb. Exciting as always. Not so much the Liverpool vs Arsenal match, but the Birmingham vs Newcastle one instead. As usual full of drama and spectalcular football. Not to mention a few upsets. Give you guys the score in a while. The past few week has been pretty good. In terms of social life and managing to absorb during lessons. Transition back into school has been really easy. Will talk about it at a later date. School homework has been coming in in large piles (adding to my still uncompleted piano homework), so I'm taking it one step at a time, finishing up those that I have to hand in the earliest. Its a pretty good strategy to survive, but it does give that sense of unaccomplishment which comes with not finishing all your homework in one go. This post will also contain little snippets of the hols, namely the various outings I haven't managed to talk about yet. A bit of bowling, Orchard, pool, house visiting and other stuff. *** Soccer FA C

2007

Well now... Its 2007 and I haven't got that in me yet. Still lagging a bit, and feeling a bit groggy from the lack of sleep. As promised, a new year's post. Camp post and outing posts will come later, if I really do get my piano homework out of the way. Every single week it comes in huge piles which is seriously freaky. *** Just read Psalms 1:1. "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers." ~Psalms 1:1 Just the right kind of verse to start the new year ain't it? A command to heed and follow no matter what you do in the new year, a reminder to walk in the path of light and not of darkness, and to not mock others. Appropriate. Something that every YE person should do and try to achieve in the new year. As simple as this little, seemingly insignificant sentence from a chapter with only 6 verses. For this year's maiden post of the new year, I'd like to bring you guys back throu
