Crazy Day

Hmm... Yesterday was an insane day. Uh huh. Had to go for Chem lesson in the morning about exothermic and endothermic reactions or something. Then I went for CCA after that. Everyone was super pissed because the teacher decided to plan the date and time for the camp all by himself. He made sure it was a 3 day 1 night camp and that there would be pracs during the camp. What kind of camps have this kind of thing in the middle? Everyone was angry cos he didn't consult us before he did something. At the start of our leadership term, he told us: "Everything you do you have to consult me first..." And what did he do? He went on by himself without telling us. Bah. Since he doesn't respect what we want and what the members of the CCA want, under what conditions should we respect him? None. We are students. We know that practices during camp have a detrimental effect on the morale of the people. We know that 3 day 1 night camps are redundant and most likely people won't co

CT results

For the first part of my post, please refer to the first paragraph of my previous post. Yeah. K. Now that thats done... Went to meet my band on Saturday! Yay. Well... Only Guoren and Joash. We kinda sang "I Offer My Life" and shared our week and walk with God so far. And then we discussed about our goals for the band and what we wanted to achieve by this year and beyond. Well... It was a great session. It taught me to think big when doing stuff for God. Thats how PoP was created right? Uh huh. I remember Jon telling me to include some pics in my bass guide to help people understand better. I think its kinda hard to understand now that I read it back. Uh huh. Point taken. Its about time I put my Shutterfly account into good use. Its been there for so long but Io haven't used it... Hm... Trying to figure out the password to Amanda's BLOG. I tried frost but it didn't work. Haha. I just realised that the best way to guess her password correctly is to ask her... Haha.
My bros are at it again... Hogging the com till the wee hours of the night when everyone's sleeping. Giving me no chance to talk with people or to BLOG. Hmm... This complaint probably would last until the end of the holidays. I'll probably be repeating this everytime I meet people. In that case you guys better remind me if I start talking about it. My social life's getting really restrained by the gastric problems. I missed the PSL Carnival, the soccer game on Friday and the bowling on Sunday. Hopefully I can go to Joel's farewell party tomorrow at Taka Seoul Garden. Bah. Auntie Sonia told me that the key to controlling the pain was to eat small portions of food every two to three hours. I'm trying that now, and thats working! I guess all I had to do was have more discipline in my eating habits. Hmm.... I'm getting hungry now. Better go and eat... Oh well. I'm back. Friday was Founders Day. Just performed in the parade, then went to guitar room to slack, the

BenLow's Guide to BASSics

BenLow's Guide to Bass Basics version 9.0 Chapter 1: About the author The author has about 2 months of Bass playing experience and thus whatever he writes here is just a rough guide. If any inaccuracies are present please e-mail the author at benlck@hotmail.com , stating your name and e-mail address. Thank you. Anyway, the author has been playing for his church and is considering setting up a band and playing as a bassist in the band. Hopefully it'll work out nicely. One last thing. The author is only a teen who can't find any good guides out there about bass playing. If anyone finds one, please contact the author immediately, or can somebody please write an actual guide? Thank you. Anyways, Chapter 2: About the bass The more widely used bass guitar has four strings which are similar to the last four strings in an acoustic guitar, except that the pitch is an octave lower. In other words, the notes of the bass guitar open strings are G, D, A and E. The first string is the th

RJGE Concert

Went to see RJGE's concert on Tuesday! Well, it was ok. Saw Ian. He was right in the middle of the first row. And he was playing quite well! Awesome! Well, HCGE came as well, and Joshua was playing! He was seated on the right side on row three. Met David from SJC outside the Concert Area. HE was one of the ushers for the concert or something... We brought a large box of chocolates into the concert hall, and we gave some to our seniors. Instead of flowers. Chocolates are more practical I guess. During interval we kinda sneaked out to find the backstage and find our seniors. People were trying to stop us but we still ran through. Haha. Well, Wednesday was founders day rehearsal. Boring. Sat around for an hour waiting for the parade to finish then we moved on to the outdoor segment. Stood in the sun for real long. To tell the truth I felt a bit sick. Not enough sleep + recovering from an illness isn't exactly a good combo. Held on till the end then went home. They quarelled over t

Oww... Gastric!

Friday night was crazy. Stomach pains really hurt. But thanks to my sleeping skills, managed to fall asleep, hoping that the pains would subside in the morning and I could join the YE people for LANning and bowling. In the morning I woke up with the pain, and I felt real sick so I just couldn't go. Went for a checkup on Sunday morning, and I got diagnosed with thinning of the mucus walls of the stomach, causing minor gastroenteritis. In layman's terms: gastric pains. I was real surprised. I thought I was eating enough and I was eating regularly. Maybe now I have to eat 4 times a day and eat more each time. Bah. Only need minor medication though, so its ok I guess... Morrison got first for swimming carnival. Haha. No surprise. Our batch is super strong in sports. Plus the sec2s and sec1s being good as well, it was a forgone conclusion that we got first. I ponned it actually, to go home, although I watched a bit of swimming as well as tennis. Lam and YuCong are super good. Haha.

Respect

Respect has to be earned, not forced... Hmm... How do you earn my repect? Do things from your heart. Do what you feel inside. Never do something just because its "Your duty". Do it because you want to. Be true to what you feel inside, and you'll earn my respect. The same goes out to textbook christians and textbook muggers out there. If you don't like it, DON'T do it. Don't come complaining when you find it tough. It makes me sick. Anyways, watched a movie "Shattered Glass" about some guy name Stephen Glass working for a political newspaper who cooked up stories to fufil his quota. About half of his 40 over articles were fake. That guy is one smart guy... Managed to lie through the entire editing process. Haha. KI... A new subject. Looks real tough, lots of writing in the exam. I'm not going to take it for A Levels, thats for sure. Uchenna and Joyce won the amazing race. Aww... Rob and Amber are real smart people, even if they're really unet

Time to Watch our Mouths...

Us RI guys should really think over something before we do it. First one ex RI guy goes to jail for something he thought was fun, secondly, two ex RI bloggers got whacked by the media and people out there for putting down what they thought was funny. Now in school someone got punished for hacking into a teachers account and posting a message. Bah. Wise up guys, or else we might end up in hot soup or something... I think our current headmaster's talking a lot of sense and I'm starting to respect him a whole lot more than I originally did. Yeah. He's a good guy k? Thats what I think... To all guys out there, beware the BLOGger's trap! Never say anything that will hurt and make people look bad. Even if you want to, you don't have to reveal the names of the people. Freedom of speech is becoming more and more dangerous already... Actually, if you have respect towards everyone, you wouldn't insult people in that manner or hurt them no matter what. Its a basic principl

BLOG Publicity!

Wow! So many people are here looking at my posts. People from primary school, people from school, people from church. Haha. Spread the word! Let more people come and see the weird stuff I write! Hahaha! K. Just don't laugh when I say funny stuff k. Well, Saturday was boring... I wasn't allowed to use the com or PS cos my bros were at home and they haven't finished their exams. So I woke up at 8, saw that my bros weren't awake and used the com to start on the tutorial which I wrote partially as a guide and partially as comic relief. Its half done... Hopefully I'll finish it before they come back home today. When they woke up, I spent my time doing lots of stuff I didn't need to do. My day kinda went like this: 1. Finish using the com 2. Sleep 3. Jam on the guitar 4. Sleep 5. Go watch TV 6. Sleep 7. Go tidy up my cupboards 8. Sleep 9. Go play the piano 10. Sleep 11. Eat lunch 12. Sleep 13. Practice the more difficult bass runs 14. SMS Tim about worship 15. Sleep 1

Freedom!

Awesome! CT's are gone and the com's back! Yeah! Intensive BLOGging and net surfing time! Its like a huge weight has fallen from my shoulders. After the three major things from school, CCA and church, I feel real relieved. CT was like a blur or something. I can't remember the papers exactly at all. Haha. Its just that I felt that it wasn't as important as other stuff. Yeah. Anyways, champs league was a real surprise. Yeah! Good news for all Liverpool fans! They advanced to the finals by an aggregate of 1-0. Awesome. It doesn't matter how they won. A victory is a victory. Anyways, I was expecting an all underdog final, with PSV winning, but AC Milan got through 3-3 on away goals. Bah. My predictions aren't always right. Well, I'm BLOGging, using the PS2 and surfing the web at the same time. Haha. I'm playing FFT and Dynasty Warriors 4 now. Interesting games. Well, I'll update soon. Good luck for exams everyone! Have an awesome time. Freedom has never

No Com... Zzz.

Bah. The coms still not here, and I'm BLOGging in school again. Can't wait until CT's over and I can get my hands on the com again. The PS also... Its been so hot, but I'm lucky. I can sleep anywhere. Even when its 32 degrees in a room with no fan. Yeah. I even slept till 2 on Saturday. Haha. The air outside my window is hotter than in my room. I'm lucky. Went to support the softball match on Friday. Vs Orchid Park. We had to go all the way to some desolate place at the old race track at the old turf city. It was so hot and so far. Everyone wanted to die or something. It was 0-0 till the sixth inning, then RI won 4-0 somehow. The people couldn't catch it properly I guess. I wasn't cheering. I was sleeping. Yeah. Dom hurt his leg while running after the bus, but he's ok now I guess... I'm stoppng all "classes" till the end of CT and the exam period for the rest of my tudis. Studies are important k. After that then we'll continue with the
