Divided

Well, here we go... Final post before Cambodia. To tell the truth, I feel the most difficult part of the trip has already passed for me. For me, the preparation to go there was extra tough, not because of the need to pack logistics and being sick and stuff. It was because my attention was divided between SERVE and YE. Being a leader in both of these things and having to worry about those two things at the same time totally sapped my energy. It also was a source of self produced angst, especially because being divided by both these things made it difficult to put my complete effort in either of the things, and my perfectionist self inside cried out in anguish many many times. That in itself made things difficult. With the addition of the silly viral flu, the experience of juggling all those three things really killed me many times over emotionally. Yup but here I am, with everything on the YE side settled. There's no doubt in my mind that after the emotional "trauma" of so

Khmer

Hey guys... Terribly sorry about not blogging for over a week. Just quite busy with missions and CNY. Preparing some sort of a handbook of sorts for the benefit of my members. But at the same time have been focusing very hard on the spiritual aspect of things, especially prayer and fasting. Just FYI I'm fasting anime, and its proving to be horribly difficult. Just on sat I completely forgot that I was on a fast and went to watch the newest ep of Naruto (though it was a filler). Oh well trying my best! And God sees the effort and sacrifice I make. Besides that, have been reading a real good book on worship. Thanks to Shirley for the book. The language is a bit difficult to comprehend, but the content is real mind blowing in a good way. Well I know it was a long time ago (a week to be exact) but as part of SERVE we went to SKS. Quite a lot of books caught my eye... But the highlight of that portion was the journey down there. We walked past Third Place, where Eden-Sol had its evangel

Outings!

One of my most favourite "sports" would be cycling, and thats exactly what I did on friday with my fellow SERVE friends. Not sure what they thought about it, but I really felt quite at peace. The most favourite thing about my relationship with God is that I get to enjoy it through nature, and with that all around me whilst we were at ECP, it just was a wonderful blessing. I really could've spent half a day lying on the sand or on the grass if I were given the luxury; thats just how much I love things like that. Well, after that made my way to Bishan to join the people of S03H for a time of prawning. I always thought it was done with nets, but I got proved wrong when we did it with fishing rods, which was something new for me. Really thankful for the time spent there, I really really missed them. Though I was tired from the whole days events, their company just rejuvenated me. =) Friday was a great day. =)

Gunslinger

Well, my newest addition to my iPod is a rather serious anime called Gunslinger Girl. Heres the plot... In order to destroy the Italian mafia and various gangs that roam the cities of Italy, the Italian goverment created a secret organization made out of cold blooded assassins skilled in armed combat. The surprising thing: the government uses orphaned girls, as they are easily brainwashed and conditioned into mindless warriors. The main story revolves around a young orphaned girl, Henrietta, and her trainer Jose who refuses to manipulate her in the same way the other girls are trained, instead to show care, concern and treat her like a human being. Full of life lessons, this anime is one that may seem boring to most anime junkies. But deep inside, gems of wisdom are buried. So far I've only watched the first episode, but it was enough for me to see the harm a mentality filled with concepts of self preservation, self centeredness can bring to the lives of innocent people. Its remind
