Rock on!

6 posts left till the 200 mark... Hmm... Wonder how the FA Cup Matches went... Woot! Man U 3 Wolverhampton 0, Liverpool 2 Portsmouth 1. Bolton 1 Arsenal 0, Everton 1 Chelsea 1, West Ham 4 Blackburn 2? Hahaha. Well... Seems like Chelsea can't seem to beat Everton... K... The past week has been really awesome, no doubt about it. Although most days I reached home about 9pm, I'm feeling better than ever. I think its thanks to the Lord's healing and rejuvenation, cos the the days leading up to Eden-Sol's first live performance, I couldn't think of anything else except him... Went for jamming on Tuesday and Thursday, lugged my bass to school with me, and put it in the council room with the help of my OGL... Then went about school as I usually would. Had PE as my last lesson but didn't need to change into the PE kit, cos my class was late, and we only had the weights room briefing. Afterwards, went to get the bass and set off to Serangoon, where the jamming studio was.
7 posts left to the 200 mark... Alrighty!!! God is good! Recieved an SMS from Samuel, the drummer of Eden-Sol which went like this... "Hey we're in raffles rock! God is good, all the time! All the time, God is good! Let's keep tomorrow's (jamming) session in prayer too!" Amen to that... All glory be to God! God helped me lots yesterday whilst I was really struggling... Frankly speaking, it was somewhat like an emotional roller coaster... Monday started off like crap. Felt like crap. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. And seeing two people cry in one day didn't really help. I felt that I'd failed, that I hadn't done enough to help, that I'd let everyone down, I'd given them too much stress, and I didn't keep the promise I gave Tim. Sigh. It was terrible. I didn't know how I got to sleep in the first place to tell the truth. To top all that, the results of Raffles Rock still wasn't out yet... But things took an awesome turn... Join
I'm still waiting for the Raffles Rock people to call... All this waiting is making me anxious. Our band's auditions were on Friday, but they still haven't called us yet. Sigh. I don't wanna wait anymore! K whatever. Yesterday was worship prac, which I simply could not concentrate for. I felt that the songs played still lacked something, but I can't place a finger on it. Plus my hamstrings and abs were aching, so it was quite a bad day for me. Physically strained, mentally elsewhere, and spiritually empty, I don't know how I pulled through yeterday night. I promised Tim I'd help Rach oversee the prac, but felt like I failed cos of lots of small things here and there. Didn't feel very good. My parent's anniversary was a few days back! They took us to dinner and we had lots of stuff at a hawker centre around the Bukit Batok area. They ordered crab, which I don't like. I hate the hassle of having to unshell everything, get your hands dirty, only fo

Quiz thingy

Sigh. Ok, ok. I'll do the quiz thingy for the sake of the Sec2s cos I got nothing to do on the com now. 1. You get one wish of anything, what would you wish for? Err... Well, I'll wish for all the people of the world to know Christ! Model answers work best. 2. What animal would you be? A human duh. A human is an animal too you know. 3. Something you want to do in your life. I want to make sure everyone around me is happy! So nice right? 4. One time there were these ninjas... (Finish the Statement ) And they went on a quest to defeat an evil monster thing and rid the world of all evil; and they lived happily ever after. The End. 5. One song that you could listen to over and over again. Through it all - Hillsongs (Lyrics on my BLOG) 6. Coke or pepsi? Pepsi. 7. Something you're looking forward to. Using my band to help in RJ's Christian Movement 8. Whats a mastoid? (No peeking in the dictionary) Uh... I know the answer actually. Its not a very good word to tell the truth.
Hmmm... Before I start. I happened to go Bloghopping, and realised that my bass guide is sorta needed... So here it is after this post! Haha. Best used with a knowledge of Piano Grade 6 Theory and above. Any queries can be directed to my email. Yup! Freaky Friday wasn't that freaky after all I guess. In fact... In the company of friends, it never feels freaky! Yay. My OG stayed till 9:30pm for the movie screenings and breakdance performances put up by the awesome MR committee. Though the turnout wasn't great, we had an awesome time eating marshmallows, bananas, chocolate fondue, popcorn, and of course stealing away to go for OG dinner. Earlier in the afternoon... Guoren's house was a bridge haven. And we sat in his dining room playing. He has one acoustic, one electric, and one romantic guitar, so for me it was guitar haven. Haha. Mandre requested Jay Chou songs, so Guoren tried... I know the plucked intro for QingTian! Haha. And Mandre is a dip already! Wah. Guoren showed

BenLow's Guide to BASSics 2

BenLow's Guide to Bass Basics version 9.0 Chapter 1: About the author The author has about 2 months of Bass playing experience and thus whatever he writes here is just a rough guide. If any inaccuracies are present please e-mail the author at benlck@hotmail.com , stating your name and e-mail address. Thank you. Anyway, the author has been playing for his church and is considering setting up a band and playing as a bassist in the band. Hopefully it'll work out nicely. One last thing. The author is only a teen who can't find any good guides out there about bass playing. If anyone finds one, please contact the author immediately, or can somebody please write an actual guide? Thank you. Anyways, Chapter 2: About the bass The more widely used bass guitar has four strings which are similar to the last four strings in an acoustic guitar, except that the pitch is an octave lower. In other words, the notes of the bass guitar open strings are G, D, A and E. The first string is the th

Heya!

K. Lets start with a couple of announcements. Hmmm... First off... Wanna introduce my new friends from my OG to you guys so... All you have to do is go down to this website! Our OG's joint BLOG! Go X'PEIA! http://xpeia.blogspot.com Added the link in my links column as well. Linked a few people from my OG too. Mandre/Amanda, Han Cheng are the new links. Go check them out. Now onto my week... Sunday. It was awesome sharing on how my grandparents got saved. And great listening to how other people have been blessed the past year. It was kinda cool cos even the young people had the courage to come up to talk. I remember when I was Sec1 and in YE. Even if you gave me a million dollars, I'd never go up and talk. So kudos to everyone who went up! Went for worship ministry meeting after that. Lots of changes, and the music ministry is forming three bands, main 1, main 2 and junior. I'm part of main 2. I'm the bassist of course! And... I have to train people in guitar and bas

Orientation Power! Part 2!

For day 1 and 2, please scroll down! Haha. Day 3 It started off on an ok note. Still a bit paiseh... But we started talking about what we wanted to go as on O' nite. Thought about cowboys, but somehow it ended up different on the day itself. But I think what we settled with was better! Haha. Went to my class room... Saw Samuel and Shane Ai there! Not bad. Made some new friends, Kevin and Leonard. Lots of people I don't know in my class... I guess I'll get to know them better soon... The form teacher's real interesting. Actually she was so normal that she wasn't that interesting. Haha. Well, went to the parade square, then MPH for the rest of the people in the school to learn the College Anthem and the cheers. I like the Batch Song! Although soon after learning it someone coped my booklet so now I don't have the lyrics... Dream and dare, fight on don't despair, cos I'll be there! =) Thats all I remember, but I like it! Haha. The batch dance was pretty eas

Orientation Power!

Hmmm... Had a totally awesome week. Wasn't expecting much from orientation, but it was a blast! Made new friends, did lots of stuff I'd never have done, and sang, cheered and danced like never before. X'PEIA rocks! K. Know you guys are dying to know more about my orientation, so here goes... Day 1 Hmmm... Went to school wondering whether there would be anyone in my Pri Sch who I knew in my OG, and whether the people in my OG would be friendly and stuff like that. Honestly had lots of things running through my mind. Met AAL at the bus stop at Braddell Road and stepped into the school... Well, in the Multi Purpose Hall, we got sorted into our OGs and sat down. Looked around at the people and realised that I knew all the RI guys in the OG some way or another. Narpal was famous in Morrison, Daniel was the serial stabber, Guoren was in my band, I knew about Wang from Hyqel, I saw Hee Xun somewhere before, and Yong Sheng played chess with me. So that left the girls and two of the
