Well, it was a fantastic build up to the weekend, but a horrible start to the week for me. Haha. Got a horrible head and neck ache in school today, just had no mood to concentrate or study in school today. Together with the fact that I didn't bring my guitar for prac, and my hair was real short and messy, my day was not good at all. Hope today will be a better day. My head's still throbbing though. Shouldn't have woken up so early.

Was supposed to audition for talentime on Thursday, but we decided not to cause we haven't practised enough, partly due to the gig on chinese new year celebrations day. Spent the time with Sam in the library, then went to RI to meet up with a publisher! Cool. The guy's name is Enoch. Strange huh. He may be planning to publish the set of gamebooks Samuel and I wrote. Cool. Extra cash even before I start work. Maybe I should be a fantasy writer or something. The publisher will tell us by the end of the month, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying...

Friday was the mock NAPFA test... I ran 5 and 1/4 rounds in 12 mins, touched my toes with some difficulty, and only managed 1 and 1/2 pull-ups. I overshot the line for standing broad jump though! Yay. So... I guess its time for me to declare... I, benlow, hereby solemnly promise to go to the RJ gym on Tuesdays from 2 to 4 everyweek, and do at least 100 push ups, 100 sit ups and run 10 rounds round the track a week. Yup. I think I'll start next week. Can't find my face towel...

After that, met Eden-Sol at the Raffles Rock meeting, as well as Band-Age. The guys left kinda early after listening through the details of the 21st April thing, which is a concert consisting of 3 RJ bands and 3 external bands to celebrate the school's 25th birthday. Each band will be given 25 mins to play whatever they want. Kinda cool huh. I think the EXCO's approached us to play, so we're in! If anyone wants to come, I'll try and get the tix for them. Yup.

Went off with Rach to church to meet up with the rest of the YE and adults for a time of fellowship with some "YuSheng"! Don't worry, chairman, thats not you. Anyways, we listened to some plans that the church would have in the future, and then sat down in our various groups to discuss stuff. Tim met up with Gerald, Juan, Rach, Jon and me to discuss the future of the Youth worship ministry, but the details are secret, and I can't divulge anything. Haha. Just a reminder to teh Sec2s. Practise your instruments!!! Or else. Haha. And some insider info. We're planning some new stuff. Yup.

Saturday was jamming! And an awesome pool day. The same few people as the day before met up to play the following songs...

To the Ends of the Earth - Hillsongs
History Maker - Delirious
Running After You - Planetshakers
I Don't Care - Tim's friend

It was real fun, until a disc got stuck in the CD player. Haha. We had to unscrew the CD player from its position and take the two discs stuck inside out. Haha. Well... It was kinda cool trying to do the work a handyman had to do. Maybe a bit of an insight into the Civics Module I chose - DIY at home. Yup.

Went for pool at Clementi! Wah. Was super super off form there. Dunno why. I didn't win by hitting the black ball in at all. But I learnt how to do the front spin, back spin and stop ball. Yup!

Me 1 Yan Leen 0
Me 1 Gerald 4
Me + Kenneth 0 Gerald + Rachel 1

Yup. Went to Mel's house later. Ate a lot, and played some more pool... This time I was a lot more on form. Beating the majority of people. Yeah! I guess it was becuase the pool table there was smaller, but it was good practise.

Me 1 Dan 0
Me 3 Martin 1
Me 1 Daryl 0 (Though we 'drew' one match, Haha)
Me 4 Kenneth 1
Me + Kenneth 0 Rachel + Joel Pang 1

It was kinda fun being at Mel's place, cos there was a swing, and the card supply was quite plentiful. Spread new rules for bridge. Kinda cool rules too! Ask my bro or Kenneth to teach you guys the new rules. Its real fun!

K. Will update more later...

Digimon

I'm feeling quite nostalgic and have been thinking about my childhood a lot recently. A lot of it is because of the retreat I just had with my CG members and how having such a retreat reminded me of days that were more slower paced and more relaxed.  It makes me want to relive some of my memories. Two ways that I've thought about is soccer - I've been watching some of the World Cup matches, and it reminds me of the late nights I had watching matches when I was 15 or so and just starting this blog. About how soccermugger came to be in the first place and how I wanted this platform to post about soccer scores and how I felt about the matches I watched. The other way is to watch old anime, and I'm thinking about revisiting the first ever anime I watched which was Digimon. It was televised in Mandarin at 8am, and I remember waking up early on the weekends to watch it fervently. Maybe its time to do that again.  In general I guess my inclinations are to be more at ease and

Vanguard

It’s taken a long time, but I think my heart is finally at peace. It’s been a tough journey but I am glad to say the worst of it is over. At the moment am surrounded by those who matter to me and I am doing meaningful things. Truly thankful that God has returned me to such a state.  In this season of Good Friday and Easter the word Vanguard comes to mind. Maybe it’s that season of life where God is exactly that for me, where we will be together in uncharted battlegrounds in both personal and professional life.  Not too sure when my next post will be but hope the next will be better than the last. Until next time!

Ride On

Recently things have been going really well. I've had a leadership position in my workplace for almost one year now and it is quite amazing how God has guided throughout the way. Despite this I feel that I have achieved the balance between my work, personal life and I'm in some sort of a flow that makes me satisfied about how things are going. I'm about to transition to another stage of it, and it feels that along the way God has prepared me each and every step. There's a lot to give thanks for.  Things are really cruising along. I've always liked a good, smooth drive and life feels that way at the moment. Its been a long time along a bumpy road but finally things feel right.  Praise be to God who calms the raging seas. Praise be to God who can be counted on for the hardest difficulties in life.  Not sure when the next post be, but I think if things carry on the way they are, more good posts are to come.
