2 posts left to the 200 mark!

Well... Went to Auntie Dora's house for a Lakeside Cell Reunion thingy, Grace, Felice, Fiona, Nat, Vanessa, Clement, JJ, my bros and I were there for a short while. And we pretty much just played basketball, the piano and used the com. Nothing much really.

After that went to Mrs Soon's mother's wake. Its the first time I go to a wake and a standard meal was served. There was Kuay Teow, Siew Mai, Spring Rolls etc. Mrs Soon told us that her mom had already decided on all the stuff before she passed away, and the wake was totally planned for and executed in the manner that she wanted. Hmmm... Interesting. Wonder what it'd be like after I die. Choy! Chinese New Year just passed only and I say this kind of things. Haha.

YE was pretty much something new this week. We got our new cells... And its pretty much weird for me. I'm the only JC 1 guy in the cell. (Although there are two other guys, Eugene and David) Well... Actually its quite ok lah. Haha. We were playing the two truths and lie thing. And we got the new Masterlife students edition! Quite a good book, though I've only went through the first three pages. Don't worry Shirley! I'll go read more. Worship was awesome. Its the first time in a long long time that I could worship the Lord with my full concentration even while playing my instrument.

Yesterday marked the end of the RJGE CIP, and it was pretty much a success! We earned $511.25 (Although I dunno how the 25 cents turned up). And all the proceeds will go to the Handicapped Welfare Association. Thanks guys for coming down and supporting a worthy cause! Returned the helium tank, and my job as Logs IC was done! Yay. First contribution to the RJGE done! Went to LJS to celebrate.

Went to Guoren's house to meet up with Eden-Sol, and we were planning what to play for Raffles Rock concert on the 21st April (Guys please come down!!!). Cos auditions are on March 3rd, and only the two best bands will get in. Tried Guoren's new song, and Creed's One Last Breath on the acoustic. Guoren couldn't reach the chorus of the chorus for one last breath... Hmmm. Maybe we'll try Nickelback's Photograph?

Hmm... Shi Xian's leaving for Australia soon. Kinda sad to see him go. Preetha, Song Hua and me met him, gave him a gift and we took the train home together. Reminiscing about all the stuff in JPS, how we are still friends, even though 6 years have passed. For me and Song Hua its been 10 over years. And I'm so glad that everyone still is so closely knitted together. Sigh... Miss those days.

Oh yeah! Liverpool beat Arsenal 1-0. Haha. No doubt that would happen. Still thinking that Chelsea's 3-0 loss to Middlesbrough was quite unprecedented. All the best to all the underdogs! The final stages are drawing near...

RJGE concert - 19th April
Raffles Rock concert - 21st April

Please come down to support me for both! Thanks!

Going to start on my goals. For the first term I'll do the improve my bass and the help in Christian movement in RJ first. I'm gonna start by being a guitarist in SV! Yup. Then I'll ask Andrew to give me bass lessons or something. Yup.

It's been quite some time since the last post, and time has just been ticking on. I'm entering a new phase in my career in a new office at Queenstown. Things are good on the work front, as I've been given a vote of confidence and responsibilities despite my young age. Eventually I'll be getting re-designated as a Team Leader, and looking forward to it! It's a sign that I am well versed enough in the work. Another part of my life that has been looking up - playing keys/bass for the newly created Saturday Service for church. I feel that spiritually things are well despite the turmoil of last year. A great sense of fulfillment and meaning whenever I do that, as if I'm back to my roots. In terms of leisure the usual things:  1. Soccer - Late night matches (back to the good old days) 2. PS4 - Trying to finish off Tales of Berseria, moving on to Assassins Creed: Origin thereafter 3. Anime - Still watching the good old stuff that is still going on (One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh,...

Digimon

I'm feeling quite nostalgic and have been thinking about my childhood a lot recently. A lot of it is because of the retreat I just had with my CG members and how having such a retreat reminded me of days that were more slower paced and more relaxed.  It makes me want to relive some of my memories. Two ways that I've thought about is soccer - I've been watching some of the World Cup matches, and it reminds me of the late nights I had watching matches when I was 15 or so and just starting this blog. About how soccermugger came to be in the first place and how I wanted this platform to post about soccer scores and how I felt about the matches I watched. The other way is to watch old anime, and I'm thinking about revisiting the first ever anime I watched which was Digimon. It was televised in Mandarin at 8am, and I remember waking up early on the weekends to watch it fervently. Maybe its time to do that again.  In general I guess my inclinations are to be more at ease and ...

Bakemonogatari

Hiya everyone! Just signed my permanent staff contract today and I must say that was a real moment of satisfaction. Shows that the 2 years of hard work and dedication to what I do has paid off in a big way and I'm happy with my work. When I started my job I had no idea it would be this fulfilling and enjoyable and I am so blessed to have it. Couple of exciting things are happening: for one a holiday with my family to Korea. Other stuff include pay raises and the bonus that goes with it, Euro 2016 etc. I finally watched a match on Saturday (it was boring) but Sunday night's matches were great. Tonight not too sure if I'll watch any but it's shaping up to be an exciting tournament. Well that's all for now, more updates after the next series!
