Unearthly

So, ended up waking up an unearthly hour today, have no idea why. My eyes are tired but my brain is not, so I suppose I'll be back in bed after this post, listening to music till I fall asleep once again.

Before this post I was thinking about this week, and how typical each day must have been, but now thinking back, there was actually a lot of new stuff that happened to me over this week, which I'm really quite thankful for. At my age when you're mostly thinking: here I am old and not so youthful any more; it's really encouraging to be experiencing new things even despite that fact.

So on Wednesday, went to meet Sam at SMU, my first visit to his/Steph's/Ernest's uni of choice, and I must say even from the visit to only one of the many portions of the campus, I was thoroughly impressed by the sophistication of the architecture at first glance. It certainly gave of an air of being a premiere facility for education. Also liked the seminar rooms very much, because the windows overlooking the outside were full length glass ones, so you could see beyond.

Spectacularly, it rained heavily, allowing me to enjoy the beauty of nature even within the confines of the four walls of the room, for that I give the campus's architects credit. So Sam and I were discussing the 3 exercises that we had to tackle for Bible Study Leader's Training, and we had a good time doing that. After finishing with that, we played a bit of Catan online, and won! =)

It might have been a simple experience, and a simple time of fellowship, but it had its significance, as you will see later. And I'd say God's hand was in it for certain.

Thursday was the day of YE leader's meeting, and after an insightful devotion led by Shuling we continued on to a lot of other new information. One thing I like about such meetings are the involvement of the young uns, especially Hannah who was there throughout. If there's one thing I like about Pastor William's approach it would be this, letting the members listen in on the decision making of the leaders, and giving them a sense of ownership of YE as well.

July is going to be an amazingly busy but at the same time fulfilling month, as YE will be joining Synthesis for a month long time of evangelism, something that we have never embarked on before, and I must say I'm looking forward to it.

Friday was especially filled with many new experiences. For one my first taste of sogurt or in other words frozen yoghurt, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It seemed that chocolate didn't mix well with the rest of the fruity flavours though haha. Besides that, a grudge match against an old nemesis: chemistry, during which I had to use wiki a couple of times to refresh my memory of certain things. And of course, the company I had through it all made it a great day.

A simple, yet extremely satisfying day to say the least.

Saturday. My first time teaching 3 chapters of bible study in a row, which was slightly stressful because of all the adults, and also that I had not expected to be asked to teach. It was a good thing I was in a way involved in the preparation for that leader's training, and why I mentioned that God's hand was in this. For certain reasons Sam had to leave for KL, and it was extremely fortuitous that I had been there with him on wednesday, making me well prepared to teach.

And I'm thankful because despite the late notice, despite the stress God was still in control, and in my heart there wasn't even a shred of hesitation, irritation or a begrudging attitude. He was there with me for sure. Given, after it I was pretty mentally drained, but it was a good experience for me to have. =)

Makes me wonder what the weeks ahead hold. These may be just simple holidays, with a daily routine and a to do list to strike off everyday, but yet each day is different, a day blessed with God's presence and made special. Each and every moment of my living. With that I'll never be bored for sure, because I have God.

Some people ask me why I don't take this time to work. Well, that's not what I find most important in this life. It's just that simple.

Digimon

I'm feeling quite nostalgic and have been thinking about my childhood a lot recently. A lot of it is because of the retreat I just had with my CG members and how having such a retreat reminded me of days that were more slower paced and more relaxed.  It makes me want to relive some of my memories. Two ways that I've thought about is soccer - I've been watching some of the World Cup matches, and it reminds me of the late nights I had watching matches when I was 15 or so and just starting this blog. About how soccermugger came to be in the first place and how I wanted this platform to post about soccer scores and how I felt about the matches I watched. The other way is to watch old anime, and I'm thinking about revisiting the first ever anime I watched which was Digimon. It was televised in Mandarin at 8am, and I remember waking up early on the weekends to watch it fervently. Maybe its time to do that again.  In general I guess my inclinations are to be more at ease and

Ride On

Recently things have been going really well. I've had a leadership position in my workplace for almost one year now and it is quite amazing how God has guided throughout the way. Despite this I feel that I have achieved the balance between my work, personal life and I'm in some sort of a flow that makes me satisfied about how things are going. I'm about to transition to another stage of it, and it feels that along the way God has prepared me each and every step. There's a lot to give thanks for.  Things are really cruising along. I've always liked a good, smooth drive and life feels that way at the moment. Its been a long time along a bumpy road but finally things feel right.  Praise be to God who calms the raging seas. Praise be to God who can be counted on for the hardest difficulties in life.  Not sure when the next post be, but I think if things carry on the way they are, more good posts are to come.

Vanguard

It’s taken a long time, but I think my heart is finally at peace. It’s been a tough journey but I am glad to say the worst of it is over. At the moment am surrounded by those who matter to me and I am doing meaningful things. Truly thankful that God has returned me to such a state.  In this season of Good Friday and Easter the word Vanguard comes to mind. Maybe it’s that season of life where God is exactly that for me, where we will be together in uncharted battlegrounds in both personal and professional life.  Not too sure when my next post will be but hope the next will be better than the last. Until next time!
