Over You

Ok so NUS has rejected my appeal. Not that it matters anymore. To be honest I'm quite glad where I am now, and I've already made preparations for it. The release of the results was nothing more than a form of release, and I mean it in a good way. Now its time to relax for about 6 more months before I make my next move. And 6 months is a lot of time to do the things I want to do before uni. (Now that unit life is slacky =P)

I suppose a certain Daughtry song kinda sums it up. Although it sounds like its written towards a certain person (looking at the forums this song kinda reminds people of their ex bfs or gfs lol). Its pretty applicable to my situation.

Well I never saw it coming,
Shoulda started running a long long time ago
And I'd never thought I'd doubt you
I'm better off without you
More than you more than you know.

I'm slowly getting closure
I guess its really over
I'm finally getting better
I'm picking up the pieces
Spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together

Cause the days I thought I'd never get through
I got over you

So this is the last time you guys will ever see the medicine tag on this blog. Sayonara!

I'm richer by $100! All thanks to achieving a silver at ippt on thursday. Never thought I'd reach it that easily. All my stations except 2.4 were gold standard. Finally reached 10 pull ups, had 247 for broad jump, 9.8 for shuttle run, and 53 for situps, beating the company record! =) My name's gonna be up on the notice board! 2.4 was roughly around 11 mins. Gotta train, gotta train.

Passing SOP test with 97% was the second accomplishment for this week. It ensured that I wouldn't get confined over the weekend and got to play pool with the guys.

Speaking of pool I'm getting pretty good at hitting easy shots. And my placement is getting really good. In the matches I played I've been hitting 3, 4 balls in a row. Still, I'm pretty weak in potting the ball in the centre hole, and doing long range shots. Gotta practise! My form still tends to taper off near the end of pool sessions.

To sum it up, this week I've learnt something. It isn't new, but it kinda resurfaced over the week.

I was reminded that God's will for us is truly great. Its strange how the standards we want always seem to be better than His in our own eyes. But in the end, it is His will that gives the best possible outcome. And for that I put my utter trust in Him and Him alone.

A few weeks/months ago I would've said that medicine would be the best way to utilise my talents, abilities and personality. I believe most people would say so as well. But weighing everything and putting it in perspective, it would've closed many doors that I still want open. Examples: 8 Sig Bn evangelism, learning jap, drving, sign language, doing piano dip, getting a taste of having a job, finally having free time to do worships/teachings.

Truly, God knows what is best.

Digimon

I'm feeling quite nostalgic and have been thinking about my childhood a lot recently. A lot of it is because of the retreat I just had with my CG members and how having such a retreat reminded me of days that were more slower paced and more relaxed.  It makes me want to relive some of my memories. Two ways that I've thought about is soccer - I've been watching some of the World Cup matches, and it reminds me of the late nights I had watching matches when I was 15 or so and just starting this blog. About how soccermugger came to be in the first place and how I wanted this platform to post about soccer scores and how I felt about the matches I watched. The other way is to watch old anime, and I'm thinking about revisiting the first ever anime I watched which was Digimon. It was televised in Mandarin at 8am, and I remember waking up early on the weekends to watch it fervently. Maybe its time to do that again.  In general I guess my inclinations are to be more at ease and

Vanguard

It’s taken a long time, but I think my heart is finally at peace. It’s been a tough journey but I am glad to say the worst of it is over. At the moment am surrounded by those who matter to me and I am doing meaningful things. Truly thankful that God has returned me to such a state.  In this season of Good Friday and Easter the word Vanguard comes to mind. Maybe it’s that season of life where God is exactly that for me, where we will be together in uncharted battlegrounds in both personal and professional life.  Not too sure when my next post will be but hope the next will be better than the last. Until next time!

Ride On

Recently things have been going really well. I've had a leadership position in my workplace for almost one year now and it is quite amazing how God has guided throughout the way. Despite this I feel that I have achieved the balance between my work, personal life and I'm in some sort of a flow that makes me satisfied about how things are going. I'm about to transition to another stage of it, and it feels that along the way God has prepared me each and every step. There's a lot to give thanks for.  Things are really cruising along. I've always liked a good, smooth drive and life feels that way at the moment. Its been a long time along a bumpy road but finally things feel right.  Praise be to God who calms the raging seas. Praise be to God who can be counted on for the hardest difficulties in life.  Not sure when the next post be, but I think if things carry on the way they are, more good posts are to come.
