Whatever

Haha... Finally got the oppotunity to go for a pool session with some of the YE people, though most of them were preparing for Easter. Would you believe it if I said that I lost every match cos of the black ball? Haha. Must be hitting my shots too hard. Those I won I got the black ball in.

Got my first assignment as finance in charge! Refunding Shirley's $2 for aluminium foil for props. Oh yeah... FYI, my church is holding a small scale Easter celebration thing that involves quite a thought provoking play. "The Courtroom" by Carmen Licciardello makes people think about their belief in Christianity, especially those who have backslided... Wanna come or bring anyone? Its on the 16th April, Easter Sunday.

Felt quite off colour on Monday, dunno why. Guitar prac went by in a flash, my songs are mastered, my stuff is all done except for the banner that we'll be putting up as publicity, as well as one of the ahem... *secret stuff*. Can't tell you guys remember?

Everything was as normal for the rest of the week. Wednesday I had to cancel piano lesson and my teacher was kinda pissed. Exams are in July and I've only mastered one song. Still have aural, sight reading, scales and 2 songs to do. Its no wonder why she's that pissed.

Had no idea the school bookshop sold The New Paper. Its a good source of soccer stuff. Being the good soccermugger that I am I bought the paper on Wednesday to check out champions league stuff.

Teams advancing to Semi-Finals...

Villarreal - Underdogs!!! My favourite kind of people.
Arsenal - They used to be lousy at defense. Now they're good! What can I say?
Barcelona - Deadly at home... Benfica had no chance against them.
AC Milan - Ouch... Lyon deserved to be here instead of them. Oh well.

My prediction... Barcelona vs Arsenal final. I think I'll get it wrong but whatever.

Well, Michelle (OG) bought 4 rock tickets from me! I still got potential customers... YE people, OG people, S03H people as well as RJGE people. Hope they're all coming!

I'm feeling really good about my class now that I've settled in and everyone has as well. I absolutely love the mix of people there. Stong silent types, cool types, intellectual types, funny types. You name it, we've got it. All except china scholars and people from other schools besides Raffles. Hmmm. Went for class lunch at the dining hall, and then went for a short tabla+guitar listening session in the MEP room, courtesy of Vivek, Jheeva and Karthik.

Went to buy cup noodles after that cos I was still hungry. And guess what. I spilt chilli oil all over my shirt. Wah. Seriously quite suay. I'm not really happy about the stalls being shut down and me having to walk all the way to the back of the canteen to go get hot water for my noodles. Bought a new PE shirt (since I already needed one more) and then went for prac.

Well, that was my week. I think its about time I talk about life in RJC more. About the lecturers, CCA culture, friendships, band culture etc etc. I'll leave that for the next post. Which should be coming on Monday if I'm not wrong. Well, see ya guys!

Digimon

I'm feeling quite nostalgic and have been thinking about my childhood a lot recently. A lot of it is because of the retreat I just had with my CG members and how having such a retreat reminded me of days that were more slower paced and more relaxed.  It makes me want to relive some of my memories. Two ways that I've thought about is soccer - I've been watching some of the World Cup matches, and it reminds me of the late nights I had watching matches when I was 15 or so and just starting this blog. About how soccermugger came to be in the first place and how I wanted this platform to post about soccer scores and how I felt about the matches I watched. The other way is to watch old anime, and I'm thinking about revisiting the first ever anime I watched which was Digimon. It was televised in Mandarin at 8am, and I remember waking up early on the weekends to watch it fervently. Maybe its time to do that again.  In general I guess my inclinations are to be more at ease and

Vanguard

It’s taken a long time, but I think my heart is finally at peace. It’s been a tough journey but I am glad to say the worst of it is over. At the moment am surrounded by those who matter to me and I am doing meaningful things. Truly thankful that God has returned me to such a state.  In this season of Good Friday and Easter the word Vanguard comes to mind. Maybe it’s that season of life where God is exactly that for me, where we will be together in uncharted battlegrounds in both personal and professional life.  Not too sure when my next post will be but hope the next will be better than the last. Until next time!

Ride On

Recently things have been going really well. I've had a leadership position in my workplace for almost one year now and it is quite amazing how God has guided throughout the way. Despite this I feel that I have achieved the balance between my work, personal life and I'm in some sort of a flow that makes me satisfied about how things are going. I'm about to transition to another stage of it, and it feels that along the way God has prepared me each and every step. There's a lot to give thanks for.  Things are really cruising along. I've always liked a good, smooth drive and life feels that way at the moment. Its been a long time along a bumpy road but finally things feel right.  Praise be to God who calms the raging seas. Praise be to God who can be counted on for the hardest difficulties in life.  Not sure when the next post be, but I think if things carry on the way they are, more good posts are to come.
