The Dark Hour Approaches...

Long post!
Heya guys... Guess that with the year 2007 ending its time for a little reflection for most of us bloggers. Well, what can I say? This year has been tough, but the tougher its been, the greater the glory of God shines down on us and into the world yes?

I guess there are definitely questions about the future left unanswered, areas of my life that are still waiting for completion. But the more I think about it the more I am assured. I have faced so much this year, and when I look back, I wonder how I managed to pull myself through. And thats where God came in. My strength comes from Him who is ever present in my life.
Hosanna, hosanna!
Hosanna in the highest!

You guys haven't seen this heading in a long time right? Heh its back! For now at least. The guys sneaked ourselves back into school for a recording session from 8pm to 2am on Thursday.
And what other thing to record but our own single - Underneath The Son!
We've done the drums, bass and rhythm guitar parts. Waiting for Choon Wing to come back for the vocals and Gabriel for the lead guitar.
Excited!
If every eye and heart be open,
Underneath the son will all nations triumph!
Do you hear the angels singing?
Underneath the son, beckoning you to come...

Wedding dinner! Congratulations to our cousin and ultra smart scholar Jason for his marriage with Priscilla, an equally smart and charming person. Woot I totally enjoyed the wedding dinner.
It was at Swissotel. Ok I know all those who went to grad night would be rolling your eyes and complaining bout the food. Well... The food was imba good this time. Makes me wonder whether they purposely downgraded our food for grad night grr.

Pics!

First the hairband craze, now flowers?!?

Thats more like it. =)

Ok ok I couldn't resist getting my own flower.

YE
We had our very own school uniform party! With school themed games.
Wasn't very excited to be going to Amanda's house in school U. After all, I have "severed my ties" with the organisation called RJC. The friendships still remain of course, just not the link with the school.
Had a fun time to say the least.
More pics!

The song station. Dedications anyone? Notice all the kids in school U.

Couldn't resist posting a Sarah in nerd mode pic! =)

Leisure

Decided not to do a Christmas gift post this year. But one of the gifts from my uncle were a couple of PS2 games, and pretty good ones at that. Time for reviews!

Game 1 ~ Raw vs Smackdown 2007

Lol! Some people may say woot Ben plays those kind of games? Well honestly I don't mind. Have watched wrestling before, and IMO, its much better than chinese drama serials.

So the game is pretty much either vs another player where you choose your wrestlers and fight in the ring, or career mode where you be a manager or wrestler, and prove your title credentials in the ring. Simple.

Game 2 ~ Shin Megami Tensei - Persona 3

My fave game now. I have replaced FF12 with this cool RPG. If you want you can ask Marcus, JS, Shaunald or my bros about it. They've seen me playing it. And its not a simple RPG game. It has elements of anime, real time battle and bishonen all folded up into one. You can go around building relationships, playing games and fighting evil at night.

The storyline is about the world having a hidden 25th hour called the dark hour, where some humans are transmorgified (change into coffins) and those who aren't transmorgified are harmed by entities called shadows that only appear in the 25th hour. To save the people a select group of warriors with entities called Persona in them gather together.

Their main goal is to find out why shadows and transmorgification happen, and the secret of the dark hour. And the answer is found in a place called Tartarus, a tower with over 2oo floors that you have to scale, but only at night in the Dark Hour. To discover the secret behind this, the main character and his other friends with Persona have to reach the top.

Game 3 ~ Shadow of the Colossus

Definitely not your normal hack and slash game. It has elements of a puzzle, real time battle RPG and action game all put together. It is really quite ingenious IMO.

The main character's name is Wander, and he and his horse Agro chance upon a shrine where a beautiful maiden is sleeping. A mysterious light from the shrine ceiling tells him that to awaken the girl, the only thing he can do is defeat 16 creatures called Colossi. If only it were that simple.

The problem: the Colossi have no visible weakpoints, are extremely large and vicious. To slay them, Wander has to use a special sword that can detect each Colossus's weakpoints, climb up the Colossus's big body and stab the Colossus in the region that its weak to slay it. Interestingly, there are no other enemies beside the 16 Colossi, and thats what makes the game so intriguing.

Ok so you guys can see I'm having fun. Till next time!

Genus 2005

Genus Concert went just fine... NUS Guitar Ensemble is really proded! I want to be like that! Lets see... The guitars I want to master are Acoustic, Bass and Classical! Yeah. Actually this year's Genus concert was a bit interesting. They played a Japanese song and some jazz, but most pieces were classical. The Alto runs were really fast. I could tell that the Guitaron player was good too... Saw Josh there! He was there with his HCJCGE Friends. He was sitting in the row in front of mine. Slept on the bus today and missed the loop. Haha. Well. Had to alight, cross the street and take the bus again. And theres this ulcer right in the middle of my middle lip. It hurts whenever I eat something. But I need my food... Ow. I think the heatiness I get from sleeping less hours caused the ulcer. Looking forward to I-Learning. Can sleep more. Haha. Champions League was crazy. I woke up and went to school to hear the results. ManU Lost 2-0 on aggregate to Ac Milan. Barcelona lost to Chelsea 4-5...

Of God and Demons

Now that'd I've put my last phase of life past me and have some more time to reflect cos I'm C+ for the second time, I feel that it's the correct time to do a bit more reflection about my past, especially the last couple of years. I've always thought that one of the counseling exercises practiced would be helpful for me to process what I've been going through - that is to personify my negative emotions. In a sense to experience that final bit of release from these emotions that have threatened me for a long time. To talk about the inner demons that I've been facing.  Wrath. The fiercest of them all, yet gentlemanly in some ways, calculative in others. People usually imagine wrath to be brawny, in your face and belligerent. But my Wrath is more sinister, sly even. Plotting the downfall of my enemies and using the knowledge that I have to exact vengeance. Over the months I have exerted control of him by reminding myself that only God has the right to judge. Ride On

Recently things have been going really well. I've had a leadership position in my workplace for almost one year now and it is quite amazing how God has guided throughout the way. Despite this I feel that I have achieved the balance between my work, personal life and I'm in some sort of a flow that makes me satisfied about how things are going. I'm about to transition to another stage of it, and it feels that along the way God has prepared me each and every step. There's a lot to give thanks for.  Things are really cruising along. I've always liked a good, smooth drive and life feels that way at the moment. Its been a long time along a bumpy road but finally things feel right.  Praise be to God who calms the raging seas. Praise be to God who can be counted on for the hardest difficulties in life.  Not sure when the next post be, but I think if things carry on the way they are, more good posts are to come.
