Deja Vu

And so CNY passed by in a rather quick flash, and I'm thankful that this year it wasn't as tiring, invasive and threatening as previous years. Usually I don't look forward to some aspects of CNY, as I'll be bombarded by questions, but this year was relatively peaceful, enjoyable even! Also, really felt that the previous CNY was just a day ago. Remembered clearly that I was the designated driver the most of the days where we went visiting, and driving during that time was especially fun. Now that I have my own car, haven't been driving my dad's, and this year for CNY I didn't either. With school/work looming tomorrow for many of my cousins, everybody was rather vexed about it having to end. But I guess I'm alright. After all, only have a lesson from 6-8pm tomorrow! Quite happy about that. Well until next time! :)

Thessalonians!

I've begun my exploration of the book of 1 Thessalonians, and I really do feel its is apt at my current stage of life, as someone still going strong in the faith despite facing trials, just like the Thessalonians did. Looking very much forward to increasing my knowledge of the word and be ministered by this book at the same time! Also some amazing things... Coinciding with my starting to lead worship for YE again, my piano has been shifted into my room, and that I really praise God for. Here we see is efficacy at work, doing things correctly, at the right time, in the right situations. There I see the power and the wisdom of God at work. And preparing for worship has rejuvenated me and drawn me closer to God once again, and that feeling is amazing. Today is also my dad and mom's wedding anniversary, and with that its 25 years of marriage! Great great! Lastly, tutorials will begin soon, but my final timetable hasn't been confirmed, so shall only post about it after! Excited ...

Soul Eater

First off, I must say that I'm very very excited about this year. After starting it off simply, the excitement has begun to build in me for a couple of reasons. First is the development of YE, and I really do see many avenues for the youth to rise up and not only bond but become stronger in Christ. The next thing is about the happenings in SERVE... It just so happened that both Aaron and Amos have become group leaders of their individual groups! Really anticipating their growth as leaders, not only administratively but in their heart for the people. More more... Is about Gihon and its development! Esther's coming back to help me with the admin, and that really does free me for a lot of things, especially to focus on the spiritual and pastoral elements. I'm also excited about the CE that Sam's prepared, and I do hope to bring my members through the year, bonding more and learning more about God. And some more: my modules this semester do seem very interesting to me. Am f...

Ubin

The new semester is about to begin! Into my second half of year 2, I feel that I'm very much enjoying being a student at NUS, but also very aware of how soon the end of my left as a student is coming... Before that, here are the modules I'll be taking and their schedules PL3244 - Adolescent Psychology (Tuesdays 2-4pm) SS2205 - Japan and Singapore (Wednesdays 4-6pm) PL3241 - Personality and Individual Differences (Wednesdays 6-8pm) PL3239 - Industrial and Organizational Psychology (Thursdays 10-12noon) LAJ2202 - Japanese 3 (Thursdays 6-8pm) Which means that for the first 2 weeks, I've have a 6 hour break on thursday... Can spend that time watching anime and reading my texts I guess... Hmm what to do what to do. Wednesday looks like it'll be quite rushed, but I can leave early from my Japan and Singapore module to go for my other lecture, so I'm not too worried. Besides that, finally got a chance to properly visit the main jetty of Pulau Ubin! And its pretty easy to n...

Bliss

Well, a big welcome to the year 2012, a brand new year waiting to be explored. The year 2011 went by in a flash... It felt like a bullet train going past, with the busyness in YE, dating and school stuff making it go rather quick! If there's one word to describe 2011, it would be 'bliss'. Being with Vanessa and getting to know her contributed to much of that, and am looking forward to spending many more years with her. There are many things that happened this year, but all pale in comparison to finally being a couple with her. Its a big responsibility, and I now believe that I'm in a good capacity to care for someone else, not only emotionally and physically, but spiritually as well. Its been rather uneventful for a typical year for me, but oh wells I enjoyed it while I could. In this new year, I'm going to continue striving towards maintaining my spiritual fervor, which I realize is beginning to diminish with age. The relationship with God is there, but is starting...

His Kingdom Will Know No End

And so the busyness of this holiday period has ended, with 3 tiring events now out of the way! First was YE Camp from the 19th to the 22nd of December. During that time, we played many games, learnt valuable lessons, grew spiritually and grew closer. It was a really wonderful time, my first time as an overseer of a camp. And its very very different as someone mentoring and taking care of the ones who lead. You see everything as opportunities to strengthen those under your charge, wanting to do your best to instill in them values that they, in future can teach the younger ones. The feel for this camp was definitely different, and I enjoyed myself thoroughly nonetheless, learning to let go and let God work within the leaders. Did lots of driving for the camp, shifting logistics, buying groceries and transporting people here and there. The car couldn't have come at a better time, as this year it was really quite needed! Also, got to interact more with the younger people, giving them s...
